NPP is a tribal Ashanti party, not an Akan party – Akyena Brentuo

A Stalwart of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alfred Agbesi Woyome has taken a swipe at the member of parliament for Assin North, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, calling him a non-entity who is not worth debating.

According to him, Kennedy Agyapong is an ignoramus who talks anyhow for the mere assertion that he is a rich man.

Ken Agyapong was commenting on a publication in the Thursday edition of the Chronicle newspaper which reported that GHS42 million had been dubiously doled out to the NDC guru.

According to the publication, an Accra High Court has ordered the State to settle Mr. Woyome with GHS41,811,480.59 as compensation for losses he suffered after being denied a bid he won to build stadia prior to the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations. The report claimed the verdict was given after the Attorney General (AG) failed to appear in court to defend the State on the matter.

The Assin North MP who spoke on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, was unhappy that the State had to pay Mr Woyome such an amount for “no work done” and subsequently describing woyome as a thief.

Speaking on Asempa Fm’s Ekosii-Sen on Tuesday, Alfred Woyome noted that Kennedy Agyapong is a man of no substance and worth not debating. ”Kennedy Agyapong is an ignoramus who calls himself an MP and goes around insulting everybody. Who does he think he is?”

Woyome challenged Kennedy Agyapong to tell Ghanaians who he is and the work he has done on earth so far.”Kennedy Agyapong has not done any work in this world. Everybody and I myself can mention what I have done so far in life, what can Kennedy say about his; I dare him to come”.

He stressed that the Assin North mp describing him (Alfred Woyome) as a thief is a statement of an ignoramus which should not be taken seriously. ”He doesn’t know anything concerning the compensation given me. He opens his mouth anyhow and makes noise because he thinks he is somebody. The rest of the NPP top guns are quiet because they know I deserve what is given me but for that ignoramus thinks he can make noise”.

He said what baffles him is that Kennedy Agyapong does not know him personally but wonders why he is moving to radio stations and calling him a thief. ”Does he know the work I have done on earth? I don’t even want him to know me; such a complete non-entity calling himself an MP”.

He said Kennedy Agyapong is not a rich man. ”Let him tell us the work he has done so far, the only work he can boast of is the US$8 Million contract he had from the ministry of energy where he even used the names of his relatives to seek for that contract. Let’s ask him whether he didn’t use the name of his family members to get that contract. Probably that is the only work he can boisterously mention to the public”.

“What happened to him in the UK before he was brought to Ghana? What can he boast of in life at all with his effusions? I am shocked.”

”He would be properly handled by competent lawyers between today and tomorrow. He should be ready to substantiate what he said or face the law”.

Alfred Woyome asserted that he will make sure he deals with Kennedy Agyapong for the disparaging remarks made against his personality. “I do not know where this man is from. He has joined politics and now denigrating the whole parliament with his insulting spree meted out to responsible persons in society”.
